A Soxhlet extractor is a device designed for flavouring a product without long soaking or infusion. Flavouring takes place through extraction — drawing aromatic compounds from the ingredients as the product is repeatedly distilled through them.

reduce the flavouring time to just a few hours instead of 7–10 days, as with regular infusion;
obtain a liquid with a brighter and richer aroma compared to traditional infusion;
